THE POETIC BOND III - CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS (2 April until 30 June 2013) After the success of the first two anthologies, THE POETIC BOND is expanding, taking on a greater volume of poetry, and marketing to an ever increasing market. As before each entry is reviewed by a panel of anonymous readers who will recommend work to the editor, who will then look for the congruent themes and emergent zeitgeist as a whole. This year all poet submitting can recieve a reader's report for their work if they so wish. THE POETIC BOND III will be published after August 1st, 2013. BLACK DOG, an
exploration of dark corners of the soul, where our fears live, and where
redemption is scant.
PANOPTICON – the
all-pervasive watching eye of society, we are not alone, and Big Brother is out
there and to be engaged in battle.
OBSVERVATION – the
writer watching is not separate from his surroundings, they are also part of
it, and the humanity of the writer gives their work its universality.
LOVING – what is
mankind without love? These poems explore the deepest truth our existence, how
we love and are loved, and the complication of human relations – as they are
apt it say in the movies nowadays“it’ complicated”.
ANSWERS – yes,
this is a poetry book that asks a lot of questions, that makes a lot of
observations, but it is also a book of seeking answers. We are not just
individuals in a pool of mud forever climbing ladders that sink deeper; we are
the individuals, the ladders, and the mud.
Our every thought
and action is not alone, it is part of the whole, influences the whole, no
matter how small we think it we are, in terms of existence, every action is
equal to every other, energy (physical, corporal, spiritual) is never created
nor destroyed, TRUTH is constant.
From a biscuit
crumb on your lover’s lips, to the death of a Princess, to the formation of
galaxies far far away, human is our condition, life is our journey, and come
agony, joy, or even world-weariness, people, let’s just keep on keepin’ on.

“As editor of THE POETIC BOND my purpose in putting together these anthologies, and future anthologies is to harness poetry through professional and social media and to engage actively in sharing poetry with other poets and bringing poetry to the general public. These collections of poems are mostly the work of poets connected through the global professional networking website LinkedIn.com, and in particular, but not exclusively, the LinkedIn group called, “Poetry, Review and Discuss.” Submissions are called for by summer’s end, and no specific brief is given in the expectation that the themes and style of the anthology will evolve organically. Once submitted, the pool of work was made anonymous and read by a team of independent readers before being returned for editing. Where there was a congruency of theme, idea or style, poems were grouped together; and those that fell outside this emergent consensus were not used in the anthologies. In the resulting volumes I have set out to produce a
portfolio of work from a representative group of poets which I hope not only
illuminates, educates, and entertains, but also shows how poetry, and in fact
all Art, reveals and shares our humanity. “

Love, Death and the War on Terror

Nothing has been quite the same since 9/11, not because there haven't been wars before, but because The War of Terror is as much a battle of ideas and the mind, as of blood and the body. But what of it? Why should Death have it all its own way? While the terrorists murder and the soldiers die, we, the people, still meet each other, fall in love, and generate enough good in the world to counter and hopefully, in the end, overhaul the evil. In the end, all you need is love.
